HOUSTON—Predicting aviation interior design trends and creating new plating finishes that will complement these looks is an objective HighTech Finishing continually strives to meet. “When we recognized some designers were beginning to move away from ornate, showy interiors to using more subtle colors and textures, we wanted to give them new decorative plating options that would be a perfect fit for an understatedly elegant aircraft interior,” said Lee Whitley, president of HighTech Finishing.
To this end, HighTech’s research and development team has created Pure White Gold and Pitch Black. Pure White Gold, a part of HighTech’s gold plating family, is available in five versions: polished bright, satin brushed, frosted, hammertone and pearllite. Pitch Black is the newest part of HighTech’s black plating finish family and can be created in polished bright, heavy frosted and hammertone.
“Our Pitch Black is a pure, very deep black that was developed at the request of designers who were looking for a much darker plating color,” explained Whitley. “On the other hand, Pure White Gold can be used by designers looking for a clean, clear finish that doesn’t exhibit the blue tints seen in a chrome finish or the brown tints characteristic of nickel finishes. Pure White Gold is truly the cleanest, purest plating color available on the market today.
Both the Pitch Black and Pure White Gold finishes will be officially unveiled during NBAA 2004, Oct. 12-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in booth 8422.
